Standard Objects

Beyond Accounts, Contacts, and Leads, Data Cleanser can detect and merge duplicates on additional standard Salesforce objects — Case, Opportunity, Asset, and more. Enable them under Settings → Standard Objects, then build matching scenarios and review groups the same way you do for core CRM objects.

Account, Contact, and Lead are always enabled and cannot be deselected. Additional objects are optional — turn on only what your org uses.

Open Standard Object settings

In the Settings tab, choose Standard Objects in the sidebar. The panel lists available objects grouped by category:

  • Always enabled — Account, Contact, and Lead.
  • Recommended — Case, Opportunity, Asset, Contract, Order, and Product.
  • Industry — Financial Services and Insurance objects when those clouds are installed (describe-gated).
  • Advanced — additional standard objects for orgs that need broader coverage.

Use the search box to filter the list. Toggle Show advanced objects to reveal the full catalog.

Enable an object

1

Tick the object

Select one or more objects from Available and move them to Selected.

2

Save

Click Save. The object appears in Scenarios, Review, and Home stats.

3

Build a scenario

Create a matching scenario for the new object type, run a scan, and work the duplicate queue in Review. See Creating & Managing Scenarios.

Deselecting an object you no longer need prompts for confirmation — existing scenarios and duplicate groups for that object are affected.

Person Accounts

When Person Accounts are enabled in your org, a Person Account option appears in Standard Object settings. Person Accounts are handled through the Accounts object type — enable the option to include them in Account scenarios and the Review queue.

How merge works on standard objects

Consolidation on additional standard objects uses describe-driven merge — Data Cleanser reads the object's field metadata and applies survivorship rules field by field. This is not the same code path as native Database.merge for Account, Contact, and Lead, but the review workbench experience is the same: pick a master, choose field winners, and merge.

Objects without a Name field

Some standard objects do not have a standard Name field. Data Cleanser uses the best available display field from the object describe for queue labels and workbench headers.

Review queue object filter

Each enabled standard object gets its own pill in the Review duplicate-queue object menu, with a count badge. See The Duplicate Queue.

Custom objects

Custom object duplicate detection is configured under Settings → Custom Objects. See Custom Objects for the full workflow.
