License & Trial Limits
The License view ("Package access and merge usage") shows your current standing with the Data Cleanser package. It is no longer its own tab — open the Settings tab and choose License (the last item in the settings sidebar) to reach it.
This view is read-only. Your license type, expiry, and merge allowance come from your Data Cleanser Product Key: every org starts on a Trial key, and upgrading to Basic or Pro provisions a new key — there is nothing to enter here.
When merging is blocked
Two conditions block merge actions and show a banner across the app:
"Your Data Cleanser license has expired."
"No trial merges remaining. Upgrade to Pro to continue."
You can still browse scenarios and review duplicate groups — only merge actions are blocked until the license is renewed or upgraded.
License types
- Trial — limited merges for evaluation.
- Basic and Pro — unlimited merges for licensed users.
- Pro + Rollback — everything in Pro, plus merge rollback in Review → Rollback and Settings → Rollback. See Rollback Merges.
What you'll see in the License section
- Stat cards
- Renewal/expiry date, license type, merges left, merges used, and merge limit.
- License status
- Current license, expiry, merge access, and status.
- Usage
- On Trial, a meter shows merges used against your limit; on Pro, merges are unlimited.
Pro and Basic — why "0 merges left" appears
On Pro and Basic, the License section may show 0 merges left — that is expected. Merging is unlimited when you are not on Trial; only the usage meter reads zero.
Administrators: see Administration Guide for license enforcement details.
Trial merge counting
- Each successful merge or cross-object conversion counts against your trial limit.
- Multi-select and mass merge check the total count before starting.
- Scans and reviewing groups do not consume merges — only merge and convert actions.
