Settings Reference
The Settings tab has a sidebar of sections — including the License view, which used to be its own tab. Click any section below to expand its full reference.
Merge Display Defaults
- Show Fields
- "Show all fields" or "Show fields with ONLY different values".
- View
- Horizontal View or Vertical View.
- Density
- Auto, Comfy, or Compact for the horizontal workbench.
Click Save. An "Unsaved changes" indicator reminds you if you've edited without saving.
Lead → Account, Contact
- Create Opportunity
- Salesforce default, No, or Yes.
- Converted status
- Which lead status to apply on conversion, from your org's lead statuses.
Column Order
Choose which fields appear in the merge workbench, and in what order, per object: Leads, Accounts, and Contacts.
- Tick or untick columns, or use Select all / Unselect all.
- Drag rows (or use move up / move down arrows) to reorder.
- Reset restores defaults; Save applies your changes.
Reordering is disabled while a search is active — clear the search box first to drag columns.
Word Mapping and Removal
Word Mapping
Pairs a Word with a Matching Word, such as "Corp" → "Corporation".
Click New Word Mapping to add entries.
Remove Words
Tokens to ignore during matching, such as "Inc" or "LLC".
Click New Remove Word to add entries.
Overflow Settings
What it preserves
Email and phone values from deleted records are collected during merge review.
Enable it per object: Leads, Accounts, and Contacts.
Auto Schedule Scenarios
Run scans automatically on a schedule, per object: Leads, Accounts, and Contacts.
- Edit run time — turn the scheduler on or off and pick the daily run time (1:00 AM to 12:00 AM).
- Weekday schedule — assign a scenario to each day (Monday–Sunday). Toggle Schedule scenario on or off per day.
- Custom-frequency schedules appear as cards with When / Scenario / Run time and an Edit button.
The next scheduled run shows on the Home page Next Run stat card.
Scheduled runs scan only — they do not mass-merge results automatically. Merging still happens from Review. See Administration Guide for scheduling internals.
Rollback
Available on the Pro + Rollback license. Controls how long rollback events stay in Data Cleanser before purge. See Rollback Merges for the full workflow.
- Rollback history retention (days)
- How long rolled-back, failed, and completed rollback records remain in the app (minimum 1, maximum 15). Salesforce keeps deleted records in the Recycle Bin for about 15 days — rollback cannot work beyond that window.
- Save
- Applies retention changes. An "Unsaved changes" indicator appears while edits are pending.
Expired merges and partially rolled-back events that can no longer be acted on are removed immediately.
Merge History
- Shows
- Object, Scenario, Run DateTime, Number of Groups, Number of Duplicates, and Number of Merges.
- Actions
- Delete individual entries or use Delete All with confirmation.
Reset Database
Reset Selected Object
Applies to ticked Leads, Accounts, Contacts, and Cross Object groups. Re-run a scan to rebuild groups.
Reset Variables
Resets all Data Cleanser settings and preferences to defaults.
Warnings
The error and warning log for merge operations — where Home page View log links land.
- Left pane lists warnings with title, scenario, and date. Select one for full detail: time, object, scenario, summary, affected record IDs, and expandable full log.
- Delete one warning or Delete All — both require confirmation.
Data Cleanser keeps the most recent 45 warnings; older ones are pruned. Very long logs may show: "The merge engine could not save the full error because it exceeded the Merge Log field limit."
License
- Where it is
- The last section in the Settings sidebar. It used to be its own top-level tab; the view is unchanged, only its location.
- What it shows
- Package access and merge usage — license type, expiry/renewal date, merges left, merges used, and merge limit, plus a usage meter on Trial.
- Read-only
- Nothing to enter or edit here. Your standing comes from your Data Cleanser Product Key (every org starts on a Trial key; upgrading to Basic or Pro provisions a new one).
Full detail — trial merge counting, blocked-merge banners, and why Pro/Basic shows "0 merges left" — is on the License page.
