Comparing Records & Merging a Group
When you select a group from the queue, its records are shown side by side so you can compare every field and build the merged record exactly how you want it.
Building the merged record
Pick the master
Click Set as master above the record that should survive. The master keeps its Salesforce record ID.
Exclude records
Optional. Click Exclude from merge on any record you want to leave out.
Choose field values
For conflicting fields, use radio buttons (single value) or checkboxes (multi-value) to pick what the survivor keeps.
Check the preview
The Surviving record card on the right updates live with the merged result and surviving ID.
The right rail lists records that will be deleted — their child records (contacts, opportunities, activities) reparent to the survivor. With the Pro + Rollback license, you can roll back this merge within about 15 days from Review → Rollback. See Rollback Merges.
Adjusting the comparison view
- Layout
- Horizontal table or Vertical cards.
- Density
- Auto, Comfy, or Compact.
- Fullscreen
- Toggle for more room while comparing records.
- Field visibility
- "Show all fields" or "Show ONLY the fields with different values". Conflicts show a conflict dot.
Set defaults under Settings → Merge Display Defaults. Control field order under Settings → Column Order.
Merge, skip, or remove a group
- Merge group
- Performs the merge; the next group loads automatically.
- Skip group
- Moves on without merging; the group stays in the queue.
- Remove group
- Stops tracking the group without touching CRM records. Confirms with "Are you sure you want to delete the group '…'?"
Overflow — preserving extra emails and phones
Enable Settings → Overflow Settings for the object — extra emails and phones from deleted records appear as choices on the Description field. Select the values you want on the surviving record. See Merge Engine for details.
