Starting, Switching & Stopping Scans
Once a scenario is saved, start it from its card on the Scenarios page (or from the Home page scenarios widget).
Starting a scan
Starting a scenario opens the Start duplicate scan dialog. It confirms the object, runs in the background, and offers an optional Email me when this scan completes checkbox (sent to your Salesforce user email).
While the scan runs, the Review queue shows "Processing — waiting for results…" and stays empty until the scan completes. Finished, failed, or stopped scans appear in the Home page "While you were away" panel.
Switching scenarios
Only one scenario can be active per object. If another scenario is already running for the same object, the dialog becomes "Switch to '…'?" and shows which scenario is currently active.
Switching clears the current results: "Duplicate groups for [object] will be cleared and a new scan will start. Any unmerged groups from the current scenario will be removed." Confirm only if you're ready to discard the unmerged groups.
Stopping scans and auto-scheduling
Use the scenario's Stop action to deactivate it. You'll need to do this before editing match rules, filters, or master rules, and before deleting the scenario.
Want scans to run on their own? Set up daily scans per object under Settings → Auto Schedule Scenarios — the next run shows on the Home page's Next Run card. Scheduled runs scan only; merging still happens from Review.
