Accounts and Assets
Accounts and Assets
Use Accounts and Assets to record savings, investment, and retirement accounts plus valuable personal property. Account balances and tax types drive withdrawal order, contribution room, and projected growth in orchestration.
Accounts
Each account (finplanner__FinPlan_Account__c) typically includes:
- Account name and institution
- Account type (tax treatment—for example, Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Taxable, 401(k))
- Current balance
- Growth or return assumptions where applicable
- Owner linkage to plan members
Add accounts with the page’s Add actions or modals. Edit and delete from row actions in the data table. Sections use accordion layout—expand a section to view or edit rows.

Withdrawal order connection
Accounts listed here appear in Plan Preferences → Withdrawal Order. You can use Traditional tax-order defaults or a Custom drag-and-drop order. See Plan Preferences Reference.
Contribution room (Canada) and US limits
For Canadian plans, Contribution Room in Plan Preferences tracks TFSA and RRSP room. For US plans, US Contribution Limits captures year-to-date 401(k), IRA, HSA, and related fields. These interact with money flow contributions during projection.
Tip: Enter at least one funded account before your first Run Calculation. Empty account sets produce limited retirement projections.
